Immediate Opening

This position is an excellent opportunity to earn experience in technical consulting. You will complete diverse projects in dairy waste management, water resources management, and production agriculture. Duties include data collection under field conditions, data management and analysis, agronomic and engineering calculations, preparation of reports and recommendations, mapping using Google Earth, AutoCAD, and/or ArcGIS, spatial analysis using ArcGIS, development and delivery of public presentations, and project management. Fundamental to the job is effective communication with growers, regulatory personnel, and fellow JMLord personnel. Essential job functions include evaluating irrigation and drainage system performance; performing field-scale water balances, conducting GPS surveys, and providing compliance recommendations. Read and understand maps, drawings, regulatory documents, reports, schematics, and other written or verbal directions to complete project tasks successfully. Also, must see that all reports are delivered within our standard turn-around time.

 

Ideal candidate will have agricultural and civil engineering experience. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work independently. A degree in civil/agricultural engineering, hydrology, soil science, natural resources, or related field. Current California EIT/FE required with the plan to obtain California PE registration as soon as possible. Registered PE highly desirable. Good computer, writing, and communication skills a must. Clean DMV record and current California Driver's License required. Experience with Microsoft Office, Access, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and ability to learn new software quickly.
